The magic doesn't only have to last a day! As well as our usual day programmes, we also offer residential courses where you can stay with us for up to a week. We love getting to know groups better day by day and tailoring the visit to your needs.
Whether you want an educational exploration of the Highland habitats, an exciting team-building break away, a practical fieldwork experience, or just an amazing adventure to the beautiful Highlands, we can make a bespoke programme just for you.
Below you can see just a few examples of what you could do on your visit!
Practical Fieldwork Experience
The best way to gain a full understanding of fieldwork techniques is by getting hands on and having a go for yourself. We can take you through the whole investigative process from introduction to evaluation, including statistics! Check out our biology and geography pages for more detail.
We are lucky enough to have some of the UK's most spectactular and fascinating habitats right here on our doorstep at Aigas. With the famous NNR Glen Affric's caledonian pine forests just around the corner, the teaming mudflats of the Black Isle to the east, and the majestic west coast just a day trip away, you will never be at a loss for stunning scenery and ecologically important habitats.
The Wild Side of the Highlands
Not only do we have a huge variety of breathtaking habitats and ecosystems, but we also have the biodiversity which comes with them. You could get up close and personal with the world's largest bottlenose dolphins which live in the Moray Firth or head into the glens to find the roaring red deer stags which stroll the hills. Meanwhile, right here on our small estate, we are proud to provide habitat for beavers, badgers, red kites, pine martens, red squirrels, otters, ospreys, red and roe deer and even the odd wild cat.
The Highlands are rich in history and you can emmerse yourself in such evocative and intriguing places as Clava Cairns, an incredibly intact 4000 year old burial site and stone circle. Explore the ruins of ancient castles and battle grounds which changed the course of Scotland's history, including the unmissable Culloden Battlefield, site of the last battle on British soil.
How better to bring people together and forge friendships than on a journey of discovery in the Highlands? Take part in team-building challenges and share unforgettable experiences as you discover somewhere new every day.
We have a range of off-site accommodation options available, suitable for a variety of group sizes.
Just let us know if you have any special requirements or need assistance with finding accomodation.
