Seasonal Education Officer
Seasonal Education Officer – Remuneration £22,250+ pa (pro rata)
An exciting opportunity to work with our education team. The successful applicant will participate in aspects of the Aigas Ranger Training Scheme and a shadowing period with the education team. You will then deliver environmental education to children and adults at Aigas Field Centre, in school grounds, and in green spaces across the Highlands of Scotland. You will contribute to the creation of educational activities which engage learners with diverse needs and interests. As well as assisting with office administration, you will be responsible for our social media output. You will also assist the Aigas Field Centre ranger team with guiding and wildlife projects, including regular evening shifts and occasional early morning starts.

Relevant experience planning and delivering environmental education in an outdoor environment.

Motivation to learn about the natural environment of the Highlands.

Motivation to improve and develop their teaching and professional skills.

Ability to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions while being responsible for others.

Confidence working and groups of all ages.

A creative approach to engaging children with environmental issues.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft 365, Canva, and key social media platforms.

Understanding of the Scottish education system and Curriculum for Excellence.

Having a relevant environmental degree, e.g. ecology, geography, zoology.
Key dates
Training Dates: 6th February – 25th March 2023.
Shadowing Dates: 26th March – 21st April 2023.
Employment Dates: 22nd April – 30th November 2023.
