Tell Me A Story

We strongly believe that children benefit from the opportunities given to them when they visit Aigas. Aigas provides an extension to the classroom and the chance to get out there and learn more.
A typical nursery visit lasts around 2 hours. The time is divided up into practical activities, games, songs and role play. The programmes on offer provide strong links with the Curriculum for Excellence including, literacy, numeracy and many other curriculum subjects.
If you are unable to find a programme that suits, please feel free to contact us and we can try and accommodate you.

Animals of Aigas

Come and get to know some of the animals that live around Aigas. This programme provides children with an opportunity to discover the woodland creatures that live locally. The activities and games help children to learn more about the animals and their links within the ecosystem.

Wildlife Gardening for Little Fingers

We have our very own garden at Aigas, why don’t you come and help us nurture the plants that grow here. This programme offers the budding gardeners of the future to discover how plants grow. Find out what you can do to create your very own garden at home or at school and explore ways of encouraging wildlife into the garden.

Seasons

Aigas is an amazing place to observe the seasons and we have a number of interactive activities and games to play that are centred on these monthly changes. Come outside and experience the seasons.

Minibeasts

This has proved to be one of our most popular schools programme. We have many hiding places for the huge number of minibeasts that live at Aigas, so why don’t you slip into your wellies and help us to look for them? We may even get a chance to create a minibeast home for you to take home.

The Senses

Come and explore Aigas using all of your senses. We have a multitude of experiences in nature waiting for you to touch, smell, hear and see, so what are you waiting for?

Tell Me A Story

NEW for 2010- the education team are eager to share their favourite nature stories with you. The grounds of Aigas lend itself perfectly to a selection of tales waiting to be told.
