Outreach

The Outreach programme is sponsored by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH), and allows us to bring some of the Aigas experience to your classroom. This means that we can reach out to more children, particularly those who could not otherwise visit the field centre. We have some set topics such as Biodiversity for nurseries and Plants for primary age. We can easily make a session to fit your needs including minibeasts, seeds, mammals and more.

We can also help you to develop the biodiversity in your school grounds, in both an advisory role and a hands-on role. For instance at Bishop Eden’s School, we have put in planters as well as making bird boxes, insect hidey homes and growing vegetables.

The main focus of our Outreach project is to highlight biodiversity and the other natural heritage targets of SNH.

Outreach topics we can cover include Squirrels and Mink and Water Voles.

Our new and exciting topic for this winter is Golden Eagles!

The service is FREE.

If you would like to find out more about Aigas Outreach and see if we can come out to your school, please contact us on 01463 783670 (or General Office 01463 782443) or email naturedays@aigas.co.uk
